Dog owners must provide daily
- Fresh food daily sufficient for the age, size and condition.
- Clean, fresh water of a drinkable temperature always available.
- For outdoor dogs, shelter to protect from any adverse weather and the effects of heat or cold.
- If dog is tied, the chain should be at least (3) times the length of the dog and should be attached to a comfortable collar. The dog should be tied in a manner as to prevent being tangled with anything.
- If in a pen, the dog should be able to easily stand, sit, lie, turn about and make all other normal body movements in a comfortable manner.

Adequate exercise, especially dogs penned or crated.
- Veterinary care when needed or to prevent suffering or disease transmission, such as vaccinating for rabies and distemper/parvo.
- Confinement to owner's property and clean, sanitary yard conditions.
- License, rabies and ID tags attached to dog's collar.
